Wish List Wednesday No.5

Wish List Wednesday No.5
it is a writing prompt that  Preeti Shenoy is hosting, every Wednesday, till the end of January. Westland  India, will pick one entry and send them a copy of her latest book, The Secret Wish list :

So, here I submit my entry and hope readers enjoy reading
I wish I had one more chance to relive 24 and a half year of my life(my age now is 24 years 6 months and 23 days ), I would like to once again feel the emotions of joy and sadness (as a small kid, as a teenager, then as a college going student). Some of them are :
1.    When the only need and aspiration was to have a new toy or  game: When you growup your needs and aspirations increase. Whereas as a kid a new toy or a game would be the only aspiration.(I miss my remote cars, jyjoes, super Mario etc(I still have a remote car, hand video game, ludo with me )).

2.    The most beautiful female on the earth is Mom : It is not that she is not beautiful now, she is indeed. But ask a five-six year old kid and you won’t be able to convince him that his mom is not the most beautiful women on earth.

3.    Neighbourhood park was the most exotic place to go for an outing:Outing was going with Mom and Dad to the nearby park, having home cooked snacks and rides brought ultimate joy in life.(And now even after spending a lot of money on an outing that kind of joy is hard to find).

4.     Trying to act like a grownup: Acting like a grownup was a much better thing to do then it is to be one. (It’s serious tension boss.). When I was in my preteen years I used to try to convince my mom that I was grownup enough to play till late in the evening and she never agreed to it.

5.    DAD was an ATM : When you get into a job and start earning. You no more ask for money from your DAD neither he will ask you how you spend your salary. But the key point over here is to mention that you will miss his objections on your wayward spendings(And yes I do miss this and now seek his advice on very financial matter I deal with).

6.    You will miss  your friends badly : If you are in a school or a college you won’t be able to feel what I am saying. But once you get into job and your friends scatter over the length and breadth of this country , you will understand how badly you miss your friends whom you have been taking for granted over the years(internet, phone etc can’t be a substitute to meeting personally). Now as I am working it becomes difficult to meet them as frequently as one can being in school or college.

There are a lot more things coming to my mind but let me stop here as it gets boring to read a long blog post. Isn’t it.
Special thanks to Preeti Shenoy as her contest once again revived my dead blog.
                                               Thank you

A time travel tag

I found out this Time traveller meme at http://www.justamotheroftwo.blogspot.com/ .
The way she wrote was really very interesting and refreshing "PREETI SHENOY" I am a big fan of yours , read your first book , eagerly waiting for the second one.

Sunday Stealing: The Time Traveler Meme
Emily's Rules:

1. Depending on your age, go back 10, 15, 20, or even more years.
2. Tell us how many years back you have travelled and why.
3. Pretend you have met yourself during that era, and tell us where you are.
4. You only have one "date" with this former self.
5. Answer these questions.

Q 1. Okay, as we start, what year is it and how old are you?
A 1. I am 12 years old , just going to start with my 7th standard.

Q 2. Would your younger self (YYS, from here) recognize you when you first meet?
A 2 . No, he won't be able to recognise me. As I have got a moustache and beard. Moreover , now I am an extrovert and can make friends with any body , can talk to complete strangers endlessly on any topic .My YYS will be astonished when I'll approach him and start talking to him.

Q 3 . Would YYS be surprised to discover what you are doing job wise?
A 3 . No , not at all because even after completing my BTech in computers( passed out in june 2010) , that too with good grades I am still waiting for my joining. Such a situation I could have avoided if would have been careful in attending campus placements for companies who send joining with in a period of 2-3 months . Careless atitude still there which was also at that time . I love falling and getting up with more force and energy. So , I don't consider myself to be careless only Mom and Dad say so...hehhehe.

Q 4. What piece of fashion advice would you give YYS?
A 4. Wear turban not only to school but also to family gatherings. You'll look much smarter.
Q 5. What do you think YYS is most going to want to know?
A 5 . Do I have girlfriend now or still shy of proposing.

Q 6 . How would you answer YYS's question?
A 6. I'll give him the lame excuse "itna time kahan hai" :). But truth is that I was and I am scared of getting rejected and hurting someone else also.

Q 7 . What would probably be the best thing to tell YYS?
A 7 . Participate in sports , drama , make more friends as you won't get much time for all this later on. Start reading books this is one of the best things you can do to yourself. When I was 12 years old I never used to read but now scenario is different I read a lot, but I missed reading all those story books which children read :(.

Q 8. What is something that you probably wouldn't tell YYS?
A 8. Life is difficult. I won't tell him about difficulties because you learn from your own experiences.
Q 9. What do you think will most surprise YYS about you?
A 9 YYS will be surprised by my interest in politics , trying to write poems (punjabi) , trying to write a novel , extrovert nature .
Q 10. What do you think will least surprise YYS?
A 10. Hahahhaha .....That I am still trying. As I mentioned about trying to wrtie poems and writng a novel.
Q 11. At this point in your life, would YYS like to run into "you" from the future?
A 11. Yes , definitely because at that time also I had a "never give in" atitude and it is still there .

A view on joint campus drive's

Recently I went for a joint campus placement at DIET(Doaba institute of engg. technology) the acronym for the college name brings a drink to my mind. The placement drive was for 2010 engg graduates(specifically berozgars). Going for such drives make you aware that there would be even lesser Arts graduates as compared to engg. A strong feeling of hatred starts emanating from with in you saying ,"Why the hell i did engg? If I had to be treated as another sheep from the herd". But ab to jo ho gya so ho gya.
The drive was for Infosys technologies, screening test included aptitude and english test was of really tough level. Interview was an easy thing comprising just of HR. Strongly hope maximum get through and in that maximum I am also included. I didn't attended any of the earlier drives because the surrounding on the day of drive can make you suffer from claustophobia.

Some positive points of going for a joint campus placement drive:
1. You feel very good about yourself. This is so because there you will come across thousands of students ( words in bold are a true picture of any joint drive) who screwed themselves in engg entrance and are now a part of the same herd as you are so, to get an ego boost do go there at least once.
2.Joint campuses are generally for IT companies so, you'll be surrounded by large no. of beauties. So, for all those who waste fuel worth rupees thousands on geri's no need to do that from now onwards. Just visit any drive and to make your happpiness know no bounds these drives come up every month. So, see you guys there.
3. Real practical meaning of competition and its live example can be seen and observed over there. So , all those who are unaware of the term competition and cutoffs visit such a drive and all your doubts will be clear. When from thousands of students they will select only 100-200 students for interviews.
4. You'll start respecting the feeling of competition. When before your interview a complete stranger will update you with kind of questions asked from him/her during his/ her interview.
5. A great place to meet your college batchmates . Some of whom you hate meeting.
6.A great place to meet your school mates and I must tell you that you will love this. In some cases like mine will even thank God that I came here. I too met one of my classmate from 10th . Though I just talked to her for 10-15 mins but those minutes were really worth talking. I would do like to write a blogpost for her only if she allows me . And one thing I must tell girl your humbleness inspired me to be like you . It was great meeting you. Do tell me if i have the permission to write a blogpost for you.
7.Last but not the least for all those who are hunting for a boyfriend or a girlfriend(nowadays you can't be specific what a boy or a girl is searching for......lols ). This place can be the best, as employers can get there prospective employees ......so you can get your prospects and from plethora of options available.

These are some of the points which came to my mind and I typed them down here, additions are welcomed.

SINGLE COFFEE

Alarm snoozed and i again resetted it. But next time when it snoozed it was 10:30 in te morning. Sun was shining and taunting me to be a late riser. I immediately woke up and rushed trough my chores, while rushing i realised whatever i do my turban is going to take it's own time. So, i decied to slow down and after getting ready simply bathed with her favourite perfume. Oh! let me introduce myself and her to you guys. I am Agam a jobless Computer engineer sounds ironical but it's the truth. She is Nazam (a poem) i need not to elaborate on her more now otherwise she'll kill me.I rushed to the nearby market and boughta bouquet of red roses he rfavourite chocolates and how can i forget her love Mr.poo h. Hope with all this i am able to make up for yesterday's goof up(not wishing on her birtday at 12'0 clock wen even the most distant cousin would have wished her). But isn't it so that special friends wish when it is most unexpected . So,many questions which will have there answers very soon. I started the car and was at her doorstep in minutes. While pressing the doorbell the same ad in which the boy gets an electric sock when he presses the bell was playing in my mind . Nevertheless , i pressed the bell and was safe till the time she opened the door. She opened and slammed it back on my face. Let's try once again ,same slamming. Then I just started to sing HAPPY BIRTHDAY Jingle at the top my voice and se had no oher option then to let me in. At last she opened the door with an ear to ear smile and let me in with sarcastic comments shooting specially designed for me . But no complaints i deserved as she was my best friend for past 12 years rigt from class 5. "So, at last you still remember this day", she complained. I simply took her into hug and presented her favourite red roses , chocolates and Mr. Pooh. She melted the facial expressions proved the fact no matter what may be the situation gifts can melt anyone..... even girls. But i was unaware that FBI is still on investigation. "Why didn't you called me yesterday at night?", she asked. "Iam sorry ", i replied. "Must have been busy flirting with some girl on chat", she accused me. "I am not that despo...ok . she replied,"I know you have been suffering from sinlge syndrome from past 22 years and won't let any opportunity go away ". We both are in the same boat don't nettle me much now otherwise I'll have to open y mouth which is really very wide. "Shut up you stupid", she rebuked me.
Ok leave it can we have some coffee and here came two large mugs. I simply love the way she cares about me. Nazam said, " Agam which was the first girl you proposed". You have again started. "No , I am worried with this homo thing plaguing the town you might hook up with someone," she teased me. Oh! thanks for your concern similiarly i am also lot worried about you. "HAHAHAHA come on answer my question", se replied. You will never mend your ways. It was way back in 9t standard."Whom you proposed and hided it from me" Nazam said. Rhea from the PRANK group. The group which i formed just to woo her.The most ironical part of the propose was that.... you remeber prashant 'P' of the PRANK group. "Of course i remember him ", nazam replied. Yeah the guy who hepled me in planning the proposal, choosing the lines , deciding the day etc was already involved with her.Nazam's eyes were wide open surprised at listening to all this. I came to know when i propsed Rhea. She said, "Why me. I can't i am your friend and iam already in love with prashant. Where is ee? "."But why prasant did all this" nazam asked. He was quite sure that when i'll propose rhea she'll slap me and he'll capture the bingo moment on phone and show it to everybody around and diminish my winning of headboy ship. "So, one sould never trust his own friends" , nazam asked. No, you stupid never propose a friend because what rhea did after this proposal fiasco rendered me helpless for next three years till class 12th. She told all her friends that i am despo kind of thing and one sould not dare go near agam. aahahaaaahahaa..... next moment Nazam was holding her stomach and laughing madly. "what happened", I asked. "Nothing you despo", nazam replied. OK......OK alot of laughing and giggling now tell me about yours. Nazam cried out loud," Why me ?".

nazam part to be carried in the next post...............hope you guys liked it ......so don't be shy in posting comments. They are my sole inspirations to carry story further.

An experiment seven days of positivity(day 7)

It's Final day today as usual starting was very difficult but ending is simply so easy. I would like to share that it is very easy to be a pessimist and run away from things , but being an optimist is really very difficult. When i started with this experiment it was difficult and with each passing day it became very difficult, by Monday i had hitted the lowest and the most negative point in life till date. A message to all those who quitted midway , start again don't lose hope. As hope is the only thing which we come here and hope is what we take along when we go from here. A simple example of hope. When we sleep at night we simply slip into the state of unconciousness, but we still have plans for the next day meetings , visits , tasks to be done and plethora of other things to be done. We may not be able to rise from sleep the next morning but still we plan. It is simply nothing but hope. SO, ALWAYS REMAIN HOPEFUL. Five tings for today are as follows.
1. My blog writing has improved over the seven posts. Now i don't need to think words simply flow from my mind on to the computer screen.
2.I've learnt that it is not important that your every plan gets executed but it is important that it gets executed from paper to your life efficiency will definitely follow.
3. I can ping her anytime whenever she's online. One girl without any kind of airs about erself SHUBHANGI GARG you are rockstar girl. I respect you a lot and will till i breath my last breath. I wish i never annoy you ever and our pings keep on going. She's my classmate from my school. I never talked to her in school but on gtalk we never stop talking. Wish you all the best in life God bless you.
4.Halwa ! mom made it for me in the lunch awesome to eat when it's raining. thankyou mom.
5. I walked for around 2 kms to visit gurudwara sahib as no vehicle was free. Like this positivity experiment i try my level best to be regular at gurudwara sahib and always wish tat god may bless my regularity at his place. Though i was tired but feeling is not easy to explain in words i was so happy and positve after the visit.

Our days on this earth already limited we won't ever get an extension here. So don't waste time be happy , be postive and make others happy and positive.

An experiment 7 days of positivity(day 6)

It's day 6 and it is simply great visited the group which preeti shenoy formed on facebook. Wow positivity experiment is like wildfire but in this case it is not destructive , it is constructive. So here are my five things for today.

1.Dad is back home from his official tour. It was great talking to him after a gap of six days . Topics ranged from the politics of punjab to the centre government . I simply love having political discussions with him.
2. After a long time had a chance to be the part of the gossip group of the locality. This group is primarily composed of aunties but still they allow me in......lols. Strange part of the group is after spreading all kinds of gossip they'll say ," Don't tell anybody". How can it be possible. Long live the gossip group.
3. My family they hate me at times but still they love me.
4. Coming back of Dad as been mood uplifter and negativity remover. I was feeling down and negative, but is coming back worked wonders for me.
5. A phonecall i am just going to make to my best friend harsh after completing writing this. The feeling cannot be explained in words, as even though how much grim or tough the situation may be . There is one topic which will never be missed i.e girls.......girls and more girls.

An experiment 7 days of positivity( Day 5)

I am quite down tese days but 15-20 minutes which i spend writing this post, simply fill me with positivity. So, here are my five things for today.

1.I simply hate doing logical reasoning but today in the class amazing things were happening. Tthough I was not able to solve all the questions but still, I was able to hit many......wooohoooo.

2. I don't like reading philosophy, but I started today with the reading of sikh philosophy. I am just going to make sure that I get into a long term relationship with her, as every accomplished reader say it's a very beautiful thing.

3.While choosing books many of my friends bank upon my advice, they either call me or get hold of my collar to help them choose a good book. Great to find my worth.

4. One of my classmate asked me ,"how to improve vocabulary". I told him," to read as much as he can and learn five words a day". He called me today and confirmed that it's working wonders for him, really happy for him.

5. I removed all the clutter from my room ,specially from my study table which was having heaps of work books, sorted out what is to be covered in this week and what is not neccesary has been safely put back into the cupboard . In simple words, I have made proper plan for the coming week and hope God approves and blesses the plan.
