Wish List Wednesday No.5
it is a writing prompt that Preeti Shenoy is hosting, every Wednesday, till the end of January. Westland India, will pick one entry and send them a copy of her latest book, The Secret Wish list :
So, here I submit my entry and hope readers enjoy reading
I wish I had one more
chance to relive 24 and a half year of my life(my age now is 24 years 6 months
and 23 days ), I would like to once again feel the emotions of joy and sadness
(as a small kid, as a teenager, then as a college going student). Some of them
are :
1.
When the only need and aspiration was to have a new toy or game: When you growup your needs and aspirations increase.
Whereas as a kid a new toy or a game would be the only aspiration.(I miss my
remote cars, jyjoes, super Mario etc(I still have a remote car, hand video game, ludo with me )).
2. The most beautiful female on the
earth is Mom :
It is not that she is not beautiful now, she is indeed. But ask a five-six year
old kid and you won’t be able to convince him that his mom is not the most
beautiful women on earth.
3. Neighbourhood park was the most
exotic place to go for an outing:Outing was going with Mom and Dad to the nearby park,
having home cooked snacks and rides brought ultimate joy in life.(And now even
after spending a lot of money on an outing that kind of joy is hard to find).
4.
Trying to act like a grownup: Acting
like a grownup was a much better thing to do then it is to be one. (It’s
serious tension boss.). When I was in my preteen years I used to try to
convince my mom that I was grownup enough to play till late in the evening and she never agreed to it.
5.
DAD was an ATM : When you get into a job and start earning. You no more ask for money
from your DAD neither he will ask you how you spend your salary. But the key
point over here is to mention that you will miss his objections on your wayward
spendings(And yes I do miss this and now seek his advice on very financial matter I
deal with).
6.
You will miss your friends badly : If you are in a school or a college
you won’t be able to feel what I am saying. But once you get into job and your
friends scatter over the length and breadth of this country , you will
understand how badly you miss your friends whom you have been taking for
granted over the years(internet, phone etc can’t be a substitute to meeting
personally). Now as I am working it becomes difficult to meet them as frequently as one can being in school or college.
There are a lot more things coming to my mind but let me stop
here as it gets boring to read a long blog post. Isn’t it.
Special thanks to Preeti Shenoy as her contest once again revived my dead blog.
Thank you
