A time travel tag

I found out this Time traveller meme at http://www.justamotheroftwo.blogspot.com/ .
The way she wrote was really very interesting and refreshing "PREETI SHENOY" I am a big fan of yours , read your first book , eagerly waiting for the second one.

Sunday Stealing: The Time Traveler Meme
Emily's Rules:

1. Depending on your age, go back 10, 15, 20, or even more years.
2. Tell us how many years back you have travelled and why.
3. Pretend you have met yourself during that era, and tell us where you are.
4. You only have one "date" with this former self.
5. Answer these questions.

Q 1. Okay, as we start, what year is it and how old are you?
A 1. I am 12 years old , just going to start with my 7th standard.

Q 2. Would your younger self (YYS, from here) recognize you when you first meet?
A 2 . No, he won't be able to recognise me. As I have got a moustache and beard. Moreover , now I am an extrovert and can make friends with any body , can talk to complete strangers endlessly on any topic .My YYS will be astonished when I'll approach him and start talking to him.

Q 3 . Would YYS be surprised to discover what you are doing job wise?
A 3 . No , not at all because even after completing my BTech in computers( passed out in june 2010) , that too with good grades I am still waiting for my joining. Such a situation I could have avoided if would have been careful in attending campus placements for companies who send joining with in a period of 2-3 months . Careless atitude still there which was also at that time . I love falling and getting up with more force and energy. So , I don't consider myself to be careless only Mom and Dad say so...hehhehe.

Q 4. What piece of fashion advice would you give YYS?
A 4. Wear turban not only to school but also to family gatherings. You'll look much smarter.
Q 5. What do you think YYS is most going to want to know?
A 5 . Do I have girlfriend now or still shy of proposing.

Q 6 . How would you answer YYS's question?
A 6. I'll give him the lame excuse "itna time kahan hai" :). But truth is that I was and I am scared of getting rejected and hurting someone else also.

Q 7 . What would probably be the best thing to tell YYS?
A 7 . Participate in sports , drama , make more friends as you won't get much time for all this later on. Start reading books this is one of the best things you can do to yourself. When I was 12 years old I never used to read but now scenario is different I read a lot, but I missed reading all those story books which children read :(.

Q 8. What is something that you probably wouldn't tell YYS?
A 8. Life is difficult. I won't tell him about difficulties because you learn from your own experiences.
Q 9. What do you think will most surprise YYS about you?
A 9 YYS will be surprised by my interest in politics , trying to write poems (punjabi) , trying to write a novel , extrovert nature .
Q 10. What do you think will least surprise YYS?
A 10. Hahahhaha .....That I am still trying. As I mentioned about trying to wrtie poems and writng a novel.
Q 11. At this point in your life, would YYS like to run into "you" from the future?
A 11. Yes , definitely because at that time also I had a "never give in" atitude and it is still there .

A view on joint campus drive's

Recently I went for a joint campus placement at DIET(Doaba institute of engg. technology) the acronym for the college name brings a drink to my mind. The placement drive was for 2010 engg graduates(specifically berozgars). Going for such drives make you aware that there would be even lesser Arts graduates as compared to engg. A strong feeling of hatred starts emanating from with in you saying ,"Why the hell i did engg? If I had to be treated as another sheep from the herd". But ab to jo ho gya so ho gya.
The drive was for Infosys technologies, screening test included aptitude and english test was of really tough level. Interview was an easy thing comprising just of HR. Strongly hope maximum get through and in that maximum I am also included. I didn't attended any of the earlier drives because the surrounding on the day of drive can make you suffer from claustophobia.

Some positive points of going for a joint campus placement drive:
1. You feel very good about yourself. This is so because there you will come across thousands of students ( words in bold are a true picture of any joint drive) who screwed themselves in engg entrance and are now a part of the same herd as you are so, to get an ego boost do go there at least once.
2.Joint campuses are generally for IT companies so, you'll be surrounded by large no. of beauties. So, for all those who waste fuel worth rupees thousands on geri's no need to do that from now onwards. Just visit any drive and to make your happpiness know no bounds these drives come up every month. So, see you guys there.
3. Real practical meaning of competition and its live example can be seen and observed over there. So , all those who are unaware of the term competition and cutoffs visit such a drive and all your doubts will be clear. When from thousands of students they will select only 100-200 students for interviews.
4. You'll start respecting the feeling of competition. When before your interview a complete stranger will update you with kind of questions asked from him/her during his/ her interview.
5. A great place to meet your college batchmates . Some of whom you hate meeting.
6.A great place to meet your school mates and I must tell you that you will love this. In some cases like mine will even thank God that I came here. I too met one of my classmate from 10th . Though I just talked to her for 10-15 mins but those minutes were really worth talking. I would do like to write a blogpost for her only if she allows me . And one thing I must tell girl your humbleness inspired me to be like you . It was great meeting you. Do tell me if i have the permission to write a blogpost for you.
7.Last but not the least for all those who are hunting for a boyfriend or a girlfriend(nowadays you can't be specific what a boy or a girl is searching for......lols ). This place can be the best, as employers can get there prospective employees ......so you can get your prospects and from plethora of options available.

These are some of the points which came to my mind and I typed them down here, additions are welcomed.

SINGLE COFFEE

Alarm snoozed and i again resetted it. But next time when it snoozed it was 10:30 in te morning. Sun was shining and taunting me to be a late riser. I immediately woke up and rushed trough my chores, while rushing i realised whatever i do my turban is going to take it's own time. So, i decied to slow down and after getting ready simply bathed with her favourite perfume. Oh! let me introduce myself and her to you guys. I am Agam a jobless Computer engineer sounds ironical but it's the truth. She is Nazam (a poem) i need not to elaborate on her more now otherwise she'll kill me.I rushed to the nearby market and boughta bouquet of red roses he rfavourite chocolates and how can i forget her love Mr.poo h. Hope with all this i am able to make up for yesterday's goof up(not wishing on her birtday at 12'0 clock wen even the most distant cousin would have wished her). But isn't it so that special friends wish when it is most unexpected . So,many questions which will have there answers very soon. I started the car and was at her doorstep in minutes. While pressing the doorbell the same ad in which the boy gets an electric sock when he presses the bell was playing in my mind . Nevertheless , i pressed the bell and was safe till the time she opened the door. She opened and slammed it back on my face. Let's try once again ,same slamming. Then I just started to sing HAPPY BIRTHDAY Jingle at the top my voice and se had no oher option then to let me in. At last she opened the door with an ear to ear smile and let me in with sarcastic comments shooting specially designed for me . But no complaints i deserved as she was my best friend for past 12 years rigt from class 5. "So, at last you still remember this day", she complained. I simply took her into hug and presented her favourite red roses , chocolates and Mr. Pooh. She melted the facial expressions proved the fact no matter what may be the situation gifts can melt anyone..... even girls. But i was unaware that FBI is still on investigation. "Why didn't you called me yesterday at night?", she asked. "Iam sorry ", i replied. "Must have been busy flirting with some girl on chat", she accused me. "I am not that despo...ok . she replied,"I know you have been suffering from sinlge syndrome from past 22 years and won't let any opportunity go away ". We both are in the same boat don't nettle me much now otherwise I'll have to open y mouth which is really very wide. "Shut up you stupid", she rebuked me.
Ok leave it can we have some coffee and here came two large mugs. I simply love the way she cares about me. Nazam said, " Agam which was the first girl you proposed". You have again started. "No , I am worried with this homo thing plaguing the town you might hook up with someone," she teased me. Oh! thanks for your concern similiarly i am also lot worried about you. "HAHAHAHA come on answer my question", se replied. You will never mend your ways. It was way back in 9t standard."Whom you proposed and hided it from me" Nazam said. Rhea from the PRANK group. The group which i formed just to woo her.The most ironical part of the propose was that.... you remeber prashant 'P' of the PRANK group. "Of course i remember him ", nazam replied. Yeah the guy who hepled me in planning the proposal, choosing the lines , deciding the day etc was already involved with her.Nazam's eyes were wide open surprised at listening to all this. I came to know when i propsed Rhea. She said, "Why me. I can't i am your friend and iam already in love with prashant. Where is ee? "."But why prasant did all this" nazam asked. He was quite sure that when i'll propose rhea she'll slap me and he'll capture the bingo moment on phone and show it to everybody around and diminish my winning of headboy ship. "So, one sould never trust his own friends" , nazam asked. No, you stupid never propose a friend because what rhea did after this proposal fiasco rendered me helpless for next three years till class 12th. She told all her friends that i am despo kind of thing and one sould not dare go near agam. aahahaaaahahaa..... next moment Nazam was holding her stomach and laughing madly. "what happened", I asked. "Nothing you despo", nazam replied. OK......OK alot of laughing and giggling now tell me about yours. Nazam cried out loud," Why me ?".

nazam part to be carried in the next post...............hope you guys liked it ......so don't be shy in posting comments. They are my sole inspirations to carry story further.

An experiment seven days of positivity(day 7)

It's Final day today as usual starting was very difficult but ending is simply so easy. I would like to share that it is very easy to be a pessimist and run away from things , but being an optimist is really very difficult. When i started with this experiment it was difficult and with each passing day it became very difficult, by Monday i had hitted the lowest and the most negative point in life till date. A message to all those who quitted midway , start again don't lose hope. As hope is the only thing which we come here and hope is what we take along when we go from here. A simple example of hope. When we sleep at night we simply slip into the state of unconciousness, but we still have plans for the next day meetings , visits , tasks to be done and plethora of other things to be done. We may not be able to rise from sleep the next morning but still we plan. It is simply nothing but hope. SO, ALWAYS REMAIN HOPEFUL. Five tings for today are as follows.
1. My blog writing has improved over the seven posts. Now i don't need to think words simply flow from my mind on to the computer screen.
2.I've learnt that it is not important that your every plan gets executed but it is important that it gets executed from paper to your life efficiency will definitely follow.
3. I can ping her anytime whenever she's online. One girl without any kind of airs about erself SHUBHANGI GARG you are rockstar girl. I respect you a lot and will till i breath my last breath. I wish i never annoy you ever and our pings keep on going. She's my classmate from my school. I never talked to her in school but on gtalk we never stop talking. Wish you all the best in life God bless you.
4.Halwa ! mom made it for me in the lunch awesome to eat when it's raining. thankyou mom.
5. I walked for around 2 kms to visit gurudwara sahib as no vehicle was free. Like this positivity experiment i try my level best to be regular at gurudwara sahib and always wish tat god may bless my regularity at his place. Though i was tired but feeling is not easy to explain in words i was so happy and positve after the visit.

Our days on this earth already limited we won't ever get an extension here. So don't waste time be happy , be postive and make others happy and positive.

An experiment 7 days of positivity(day 6)

It's day 6 and it is simply great visited the group which preeti shenoy formed on facebook. Wow positivity experiment is like wildfire but in this case it is not destructive , it is constructive. So here are my five things for today.

1.Dad is back home from his official tour. It was great talking to him after a gap of six days . Topics ranged from the politics of punjab to the centre government . I simply love having political discussions with him.
2. After a long time had a chance to be the part of the gossip group of the locality. This group is primarily composed of aunties but still they allow me in......lols. Strange part of the group is after spreading all kinds of gossip they'll say ," Don't tell anybody". How can it be possible. Long live the gossip group.
3. My family they hate me at times but still they love me.
4. Coming back of Dad as been mood uplifter and negativity remover. I was feeling down and negative, but is coming back worked wonders for me.
5. A phonecall i am just going to make to my best friend harsh after completing writing this. The feeling cannot be explained in words, as even though how much grim or tough the situation may be . There is one topic which will never be missed i.e girls.......girls and more girls.

An experiment 7 days of positivity( Day 5)

I am quite down tese days but 15-20 minutes which i spend writing this post, simply fill me with positivity. So, here are my five things for today.

1.I simply hate doing logical reasoning but today in the class amazing things were happening. Tthough I was not able to solve all the questions but still, I was able to hit many......wooohoooo.

2. I don't like reading philosophy, but I started today with the reading of sikh philosophy. I am just going to make sure that I get into a long term relationship with her, as every accomplished reader say it's a very beautiful thing.

3.While choosing books many of my friends bank upon my advice, they either call me or get hold of my collar to help them choose a good book. Great to find my worth.

4. One of my classmate asked me ,"how to improve vocabulary". I told him," to read as much as he can and learn five words a day". He called me today and confirmed that it's working wonders for him, really happy for him.

5. I removed all the clutter from my room ,specially from my study table which was having heaps of work books, sorted out what is to be covered in this week and what is not neccesary has been safely put back into the cupboard . In simple words, I have made proper plan for the coming week and hope God approves and blesses the plan.

An experiment 7 days of positivity (day 4)

Great it's the fourth day. What to say experience can't be explained in words. It was a great day today . So, I don't have to struggle to squeeze out five things from the whole day. So, here are my five things for today.

1. I found out , I am simply superb at making new friends. I made two new friends at my coaching class.
2. I recieved this message from Devanshu singh negi. It said," Success also hurts when you don't have a loved one to wish you. Failure also looks beautiful , when you have a loved one to support you". I am definitely going through a phase of failure and I can definitely feel this.
3. The keys of my keyboard have started functioning properly. The first practical effect of being POSITIVITY experiment.
4. I dressed up in a proper manner after so many days and had a great feeling while tying my turban. I feel tying my turban to be one of the most creative thing. Those who tie turban will definitely agree with me.
5. I was googling , when mom came and said," stop doing googly-moogly ". I kept smiling for a long time .

An experiment 7 days of positivity (day 3)

Wow ! This was how Iwas feeling after completing this post. It's the third day. Hope i'll be able to survive these seven days. But seriously saying it's really very difficult. So, here I begin my tryst with the positivity on the third day.

1. Today I did that thing which iI hate the most i.e. is going to the vegetable market. This I did just for my mom . Doing things for my mom is not my priority but today it was. Love you mom though I have small tiffs with you but i can't imagine myself without you. Love you love you ....... n times.

2. I met a boy of seventh standard from my school. I felt so great recalling the names of teachers who taught me. How we used to make fun of them and lot more. I kept talking to him nonstop for more than an hour.

3. I am just improving day by day in my time management skills. Though maximum part of the day was a total mess , but still i was able to manage few hours very well and get over with my work . I am wonderful.......excellent .......marvellous.........lols. Hope others do feel same about me.

4.My keyboard has got extremely rusty maximum of the keys are not working properly. Therefore I have no other option other than to use the virtual keyboard and its taking a lot time typing this but..... I am loving it.

5.I completed reading a pathetic novel of an IITian writer. Novel was a total nonsense bombarded with bombastic vocabulary. But as I am currently working on my vocabulary for competitive exams. It was a nice exercise to recall such heavy words. There is nothing in this world on which you work diligently never benefits you- Gagandeep singh

WATER AND IT'S CONSERVATION

WATER: KEY TO OUR EXISTENCE

If there is magic on this planet, it is contained in water.
Loran eisley.

Water is an indispensable natural resource bestowed upon by nature on mankind.Out of the total water reserves of the world, around 97% of the water is salty and only 3% is fresh water. So, indirectly though water is extremely abundant, yet it is limited..This is so, because the salty water is of no use to human beings. The small fraction of 3% is also not freely available to us.This is in the form of polar icecaps and just 0.003% is readily available to us in the form of ground water and surface water.
The global distribution of water resources is also extremely uneven, this is because of varying geographical factors. Tropical rainforest areas receive maximum rainfall whereas the world’s major deserts occur in zones of dry, descending air and receive very less rainfall.
Water is a natural resource and has extremely unique properties which are as follows:
1) It exists in the form of liquid over a wide range of temperature i.e. from 0 degrees to 100 degrees Celsius.
2) It has high specific heat, due to which it warms up and cools down very slowly without causing shocks of temperature jerks to the aquatic life.
3) It is a good solvent for many nutrients. One of the most important nutrient it carries is oxygen essential for survival of human beings.
4) It has high surface tension and cohesion .It can easily rise through even the tallest trees.
Therefore, water is an extremely important resource. As evident from the above stated properties. It is used by human beings in numerous activities. Right from morning to night teeth in the morning water is required in almost every activity.
.Human body has nearly 60-65% content of water .The life processes with in the body like uptake of nutrients, their distribution in the body, regulation of temperature and removal of wastes are all carried with the help of water. Human beings depend upon water for carrying out every developmental activity. Water is used for drinking , cooking, bathing and washing. It is used by farmers for irrigating the fields. As India’s maximum population is involved in agriculture. Therefore, water is of utmost importance for better yield and prosperity of people of the country. India exports and imports a large no.of goods .India has ten major ports and 116 minor ports from where the trade is carried out .Therefore water is used as means for the transportation of goods to various parts of the world. Before air travel became popular and economical , water was and still is being used as a means of transportation by human beings. In past few decades India has undergone rapid industrialisation and urbanization. Industries like textile , chemical, beverage, leather etc use water for carrying out various processes. The increase in industries has led to increase in the coming up of new cities, townships with a no.of people moving closer to their job locations .Construction requires water in its every step or process of development. With the ever increasing demand of electricity. A no.of thermal power plants are being set up in various parts of the country. In thermal power plants water is used as a coolant.
As already discussed the major sources of water are ground water and surface water. But excessive dependence on these resources has caused a lot of degradation of these rsources. When the ground water is used more than it being replenished back. It causes sinking of overlying buildings and structures, lowering of water table and water logging are some of the harmful effects of excessive and unplanned usage of ground water. The surface water resources are mainly lakes , ponds, wetlands or artifical reservoirs. The washing of clothes and other activities like bathing of cattle in the pond causes the contamination of water. The disposal of industrial waste into the water bodies. Nowadays , a large no. of insecticides and pesticides are used by the farmers to improve the crop yield. These insecticides and pesticides get washed away due to heavy rains or overflow and enter the river bodies. This causes damage to aquatic life. One of the examples is the kali bein river in Punjab. This river has been badly affected by the various forms of wastes. The river ganga has also been the victim of the waste being disposed by human beings. Moreover , the lakes which are open to tourist are also contaminated by people.
As the water is the key to our existence therefore, every possible effort should be carried out to conserve water and its resources. At an individual’s level the conservation of water can be done in various ways . Reuse of water should be done . The grey water from bath tubs and washing can be used for the washing of cars, paths helps in saving water. This water can also be used for watering the gardens. The leakages from the pipes and taps should be checked and repaired at the earliest. Using small capacity flushes in toilets is another alternative to save water.
Farmers can paly very important role in water conservation . decreasing runoffs from the field. This can be done by contour cultivation , water spreading using chemical wetting agents, development of water storage structures like farm ponds, dugouts etc. Water from these resources can then be used later for irrigation purposes. Rain water harvesting is one of the most efficient and durable method for the conservation of water. This can be done by building storage tanks above or below the ground. This not only helps in meeting the ever increasing household demands for water and increasing the water table. Mr.Rajendra singh of rajasthan has been instrumental in building checkdams in rajasthan for rainwater harvesting. He was honoured with the prestigious magasaysay award. He is popularly also known as “Water man”.
The government can also play a vital role in water conservation .As a India is a developing country. It is undergoing urbanization and industrialization , due to which cultivable land and area under forest cover is being used for construction purposes . Therefore, afforestation is must, various projects are being carried out and some more should be initiated to maintain the balance. Documentaries and advertisements should be aired on the radio and television , thereby making people aware of the importance of water and its conservation. Proper maintenance and cleansing of various water bodies should be carried out. Here , it is worth mentioning about Sant Balbir singh seechwal. The kali bein river in Punjab had been adversely affected by the toxic and other kinds of wastes. He took an initiation at his own level to clean up the river. At start he was a one man army. Later on slowly a no. of people joined him. Today the river is free from any kind of waste and proper embankment has been done along the river which makes it a beautiful sight. So, the government should do every effort to support environmentally aware people like sant balbir singh seechwal and promote their efforts. As the water is the key to our existence. Therefore , its conservation becomes very important. Individuals alone or government alone cannot achieve the goal of conservation of water. It has to be a cumulative effort only then conservation of water can be carried out efficiently. As water is the key to out existence.

Fresh does a Refresh

Ahhhhhaaaaaaaaaa..........awesome ................m so happpy..................after days of inactiveness on my blog now I definitely have something to write about. Its nothing else guys the new template designs provide by the blogger team. New things are simply like cold breeze on a hot summer day. Moreover the temperature in tricity is getting horrible with each passing day, mercury has simply touched above 45 degrees. It scorching hot and venturing out during afternoon is simply like punishing yourself. So , here I am sitting in front of my PC and typing the words of praise for the blogger team guys templates provided by you are simply mesmerising. I have applied the travel template with blue colour. One of the amazing thing about the templates is that they come with different colour options . So, apply any in accordance to your mood .In the end i would say i was simply bored from the earlier templates and had simply stopped blogging. But now with the new design templates hope to post new posts frequently.

ACHE SANGTARE.......

A month back i read an atricle in TOI which had a short story in it, after reading it i have been narrating it to everybody known to me. I have this annoying habit of appreciating every good thing. So, i would be sharing this story with you guys . In a village once a fruitseller was going around selling oranges, he was calling out like this to ," ACCHE SANGTARE.....ACCHE SANGTARE ........ACHE SANGTARE" to sell his oranges. There was a sage sitting under a tree and some villagers were sitting with him. After listening to the fruitseller he asked the villagers. what the hawker is saying? They all answered unaninmously that he saying," ACHE SANGTARE". The sage laughed and told them to listen carefully and answer his question. The villagers again answered the same. Then he said listen to him, hawker is saying ," ACHE SANG TARE...... ACHE SANG TARE".So, moral of the story is that though good company helps you to sail through the toughest of times and makes you better human being. But one should also listen to everyone around with a keen interest because every voice has in it the message of God. This is my interpretation of the story and defintiely everybody will have his or her own .So, guys i'll be looking forward to your interpetation of the story. So, do comment......................

WORD LEARNING MADE EASY-1

Words to be used in the story as follows:
1. abandon= to give up, leave , total lack of inhibition.
2. abdicate= to give up the postion , power or right.
3. abeyance= to be put under temporary suppresion or suspension.
4. abhor= to loathe, detest
5. aberration= something different from the usual.
6. abject= miserable, pity.

Rajesh's mom said,"he has abandoned his frivolous atitude towards maths. He has started taking maths seriously".But there is an abberation in,what his mom says and his results.Last saturday i bumped into his maths teacher and asked him about his results. He said," initially when the things were easy rajesh was enjoying maths , but later on with things getting tougher he began to abhor maths".On the other hand his father who is general secretary of a poltical party had to abdicate his position and was put under abeyance . As a result rajesh and his family became an abject for the whole set of family friends and relatives.

SIDHU YAAR GUP NA MAAR

It was 12th march,2010, friday there was nothing interesting in the day .But when one is blessed with friends like sidhu how can it be that a boring day remains boring interesting things are bound to happen. I was in sector 34's wood market with one of my paternal and maternal grandfather. how come he is both paternal and maternal grand father? Is a different story and i'll tell you about it in another blog of mine. So, i was in the market and suddenly the phone rang and it was evergreen sidhu on the other side. Now this guy is one who is always up with all kinds of rumours going around in the college. Catch him if you want to get any kind of first hand information of what is happening around in the college. He'll give you every possible bit of information with him a very helpful guy indeed! First we just talked about the same thing .How is training going on? About mine you guys very well know as i told you in my last post how i saved my self from the hardcore training torture. But sidhu is always upbeat about his project adventure's at PSEB where he is undergoing training. If you don't know him well one can even think he was an IIT prodigy but landed in PTU. Oh ! i am boring you guys out isn't it . So let me come straight to the point. So , after our regular chit chat was over . He suddenly returned back to his rumour best and what he said became the status update of my Facebook account. The people who were shell shocked came out and commented well. So, in the end i got a very good story to post on my blog lucky me !So , hold your breath as here come 's the original document of the commenting on my post.
